Let’s talk about running a thriving business for a minute.
I’m not talking about Instagram-influencer-six-figure-business thriving. Though if you want to make 6 figures, I’m here to support you!
The thriving business I’m talking about looks like this: working with clients who you love. Making a sustainable amount of money for your desired lifestyle. Being able to take time off without fear that your business will disappear. And making a difference in the lives of the clients you serve.
There are a lot of things you can focus on to create a thriving birth business, but we often forget the most important key ingredient. Emotional connection.
Today I want to dive into how emotional connection should be the #1 thing you focus on in your birth business, and what this actually looks like, online and offline.
Let’s talk about how emotional connection can be the catalyst to a thriving birth business.
Thriving business tip #1:
If you don’t like selling, focus on connecting.
Many of us who are passionate about supporting & serving our clients, myself included, shy away from selling. We don’t want to be seen as pushy, manipulative or like a sleazy used-car salesman. The wonderful news is, you don’t have to be any of those things!
People buy based on emotions. Research has shown that the subconscious mind is largely in charge of decision making. Often, we have subconscious feelings, which are translated into emotions in our brain, and then we justify those emotions with logic.
What this means is that you don’t need to be pushy or manipulative to get clients to book with you. All you need to focus on is creative a connection with them. This deep, emotional connection is what will ultimately guide a potential client towards hiring you.
Thriving business tip #2:
Is your brand & website designed to connect with your clients?
Right now, if somebody lands on your website, will it help guide them towards becoming a client? As a small business owner, you have so many hats to wear every day! But the great news is that a purposeful brand & website can do some of the work for you. It’s like you assistant, working 24/7 to grow your business.
Take a look at your website right now and ask yourself: is this helping me connect with clients? Does it showcase my personality, expertise & unique services in a meaningful way?
Having a thriving birth business doesn’t mean working all day, every day. By focusing on emotional connection, your brand & website can support your business even when you aren’t actively working.
Thriving business tip #3:
Gut check everything in your business & marketing plan.
Lastly, keep emotional connection with your client at the forefront of your mind. There are endless resources, guides, workshops & courses online claiming to have the secret for a thriving business. But at the end of the day, it all comes back to you and your soul-aligned clients! Ask yourself these two questions:
How will this make my potential client / reader FEEL? Is that aligned with my business?
How is this serving my audience?
With these two questions, you will be able to ensure that you always come back to your core values, and connection is at the center of your business growth.
This might not be the quickest way to grow your business, but it will be the most sustainable long-term. And I truly believe that is the better option.
At the end of the day, building a thriving birth business takes time. That’s just the truth! Building any business takes time. But focusing on emotional connection as the key will help you create a purposeful business that you’re proud of and that truly makes a difference in the lives of your clients.
